Bright Lights – Starting in Construction 2019Congratulations to the cohort of trainees who completed the Bright Lights Starting in Construction 2019 training course. The course was funded by British Land and run by Community Campus in conjunction with Academy 3-13, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council and Bowmer and Kirkland. It saw 12 local young people achieve a CSCS card alongside nationally accredited qualifications

European Network for Housing Research ReportCommunity Campus are included as a model of good practice in the European Network for Housing Research report looking at the community led refurbishment of empty homes. This self-help housing is seeing local communities bring empty properties back into use to meet housing need and create thriving neighbourhoods. For more information on self-help housing see

Starting Out in Construction Training ProgrammeCommunity Campus in partnership with British Land are delivering a pilot ‘Starting Out in Construction’ six week training programme aimed at acting as a stepping stone to employment opportunities in the construction sector. Power of Community EventCommunity Campus were proud to host the Locality Power of Community meeting at our Stockton office on 7 May 2019. The meeting drew 25 Locality members from across the North East and Yorkshire to hear a presentation looking at what we do and how we have sustained our services over the last 30 years. The

Housing and Communities Research Team Study VisitWe were happy to host a study visit from the Housing and Communities Research Team from Birmingham University as part of the group look at community solutions to empty homes. The group included David Mullins from Birmingham University, Dr Eva Morales from the University of Malaga and Professor Yoshi Kikuchi from the University of Fukui
