Community Campus welcomed a visit from our friends and colleagues at the Giroscope Project in Hull this week. Giroscope was established in the mid eighties as part of direct action by a group of students and young unemployed people to resolve their own housing problems based around the belief that everyone is entitled to somewhere that they can call their home. Since it’s start the organisation has brought back into use over 100 houses in the West Hull area of the City.
Giroscope visited our project to discuss ideas around further empty homes work and look at the collective voice of the sector through the self help housing organisation www.self-help-housing.org to promote the successes of the recent DCLG Empty Homes Projects that both organisations delivered.
