Launa Trotter, one of nine apprentices currently employed by Community Campus was featured in an Evening Gazette Education and Training article.
Launa has set her sights on a career in the construction industry and is acquiring a host of new skills as a painter and decorator within CC87’s Care and Repair team. Launa said ‘working on site has given me the confidence to do the job because I am doing it every day’.
Part of Launa’s role sees her refreshing void properties ready for new tenants and also working on properties that were previously out of use and bringing them back into a habitable condition. Launa says “It’s great to make a difference, going into houses which are a mess and leaving them looking amazing, it’s nice to be a part of that”.
Launa is in her second year with Campus and is also studying for a Level 3 NVQ in Painting and Decorating at Stockton Riverside College.
