Christmas celebrated in style at annual lunch

Community Campus’ annual clients Christmas lunch took place in Middlesbrough and was once again a massive success with over 100 clients, service users and staff involved making the event another very special occasion.

The annual clients Christmas lunch was held on 17th of December at St Mary’s Centre in Middlesbrough.   A three course Christmas dinner was served for around 80 clients and service users.

This was made possible largely due to generous donations made by many contributors including, Bond Dickinson, Chem Oxy International, Rotary Club of Middlesbrough and Northgate – for this Community Campus give a massive thank you!

The dinner was prepared, cooked and served by staff members, co-ordinated by Joanne French.  Everyone worked really hard to ensure all in attendance had a great day – some staff were even up at the crack of dawn cooking the turkeys!

A tombola stall and a raffle were held raising £298.00!  Well done to Samantha Douglas who organised this and another big thank you to staff and other individuals who donated items for the prizes.

The highlight of the afternoon for many was the attendance of Dimi Constantopoulos, who is the current Middlesbrough Football Club Goalkeeper. Dimi spent well over an hour at the event handing out presents donated by the club and having photographs taken with just about everyone, including a very starry eyed Ian Cockerill, our Fundraiser.

Yvonne Ferguson, Head of Supporter Services for MFC says “We try to give as much back to the community and our supporters as possible, if we can do anything to help put a smile on peoples faces, it’s a priviledge for us.  Christmas can be a particularly difficult time and centres such as this are so important to people.”

Simon Virth, Service Delivery Manager for Community Campus says “It was great to see Middlesbrough Football Club attend our annual Christmas dinner for our tenants and service users, their presence was the ‘icing on the cake’.”

It may be said every year but this Christmas lunch was definitely the best yet!
